Now Hiring! Columbus Zoo and Aquarium and Zoombezi Bay Looking for Seasonal Employees to Help Guests Experience Fall Fun and Holiday Magic

POWELL, Ohio – If you’re looking to earn some money, make new friends, and help support wildlife at the same time, then we have a job for you! This Wednesday, September 8, 2021, the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium and Zoombezi Bay are holding open interviews to fill 350 positions throughout the fall and holiday seasons.

Interviews will be offered from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the Zoo’s Lakeside Pavilion for a variety of seasonal positions in areas including food and beverage, retail, grounds maintenance, security, rides and attractions, and more.

Those hired in these positions will join a dynamic team of fun and hardworking individuals who will help contribute to the Zoo’s daily operations, as well as help to prepare for upcoming special events such as the family-friendly Halloween celebration, Boo at the Zoo, presented by Wendy’s; the Zoo’s spectacular holiday lights event, Wildlights, efficiently powered by AEP Ohio; and Central Ohio’s largest and most terrifying Halloween attraction, ZOMBIEzi Bay, presented by Mtn Dew.

These positions offer great employee perks, including:

  • Free admission to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium (includes Boo at the Zoo and Wildlights)

Additional employee perks for ZOMBIEzi Bay include: free admission to ZOMBIEzi Bay for yourself and one guest for the duration of this seven-weekend event, plus two (2) one-time-use tickets.

This new event at Zoombezi Bay begins on Friday, Sept. 17, 2021 and continues to run on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings through Sunday, October 31, plus Thursday evenings on October 14, 21, and 28. Hours are 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. on Thursdays and Sundays, and 6 p.m. – 12 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. These ZOMBIEzi Bay positions offer flexible evening hours, an earning potential of up to $18 per hour, and the opportunity to continue working at the Zoo during Wildlights and the winter season.
