The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium sponsors annual paid and unpaid internships for third or fourth year college students interested in interning spring and/or summer semesters/quarters. Other opportunities may occur thoughout the year since positions available vary depending on department needs. Departments that have hired interns in the past are: Marketing, Human Resources, Information Technology and Visitor Services. See below for current positions available.
 
The Human Resources Department administers the Business Internship program at the Zoo, but interns will report directly to individual supervisors in the various departments. The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium does not provide housing for our interns. It is the responsibility of the intern to arrange and pay for housing and all other associated costs of living for the duration of the internship

The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is seeking an Information Technology Assistant Intern in our Finance & Information Technology (IT) Department.

Duties will include assisting the IT staff with providing desktop support, network troubleshooting and special projects. A minimum of 20 hours per week is required and will include weekends. The internship period will be Fall to Summer (10 months). This is a paid position.

Requirements include excellent computer skills and familiarity with commonly used commercial software packages. A 3rd or 4th year student within Computer Science or related field is preferred. Deadline for resume consideration is Friday, August 1, 2008.

The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is seeking a Communications Assistant Intern in our Marketing Department.

Duities will include assisting with publication preparation, preparing promotional materials and press releases, assisting clients, data entry, answering phones and generating necessary correspondence. A minimum of 25 hours a week is required. The internship period will be mid August to mid June. This is a paid position.

Requirements include excellent computer skills and verbal and written communication skills. A 3rd or 4th year student within Marketing, Communications or related field is preferred. Deadline for resume consideration is Wednesday, July 30th.
